T&C's

Just so we are all clear

For the sake of good order please find the below rules for the Warwick NAP Table:

1) Select one horse per week, each Saturday; your selection must be racing in the UK or in Ireland and declared prior to the race starting; evening meetings are acceptable as are all weather courses for the flat season

2) There are two seasons over a 12 month period as follows:

  • Flat season - the first race selection day will be Saturday 20th April 2024 and finish on Saturday 12th October 2024
  • Jump season (National Hunt) - the first race selection day is Saturday 19th October 2024 and the last selection day is on the Saturday of the weekend of the Grand National, 5th April 2025

3) You can either select a horse to ‘win’ or to be ‘placed’ (otherwise known as ‘each way’) in the race of your choice. A ‘win’ being an outright on the nose win and ‘each way’ being 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th in certain races; the table below outlines the each way odds:

4) The stake is 1 point per week. For a win selection this means the whole 1 point will be placed on your selected horse to ‘win’ based on the SP odds. For an each way selection 0.5 of the point will be for the ‘win’ element of the selection and 0.5 for the ‘each way’ element of the selection, based on the same SP odds for the selected race and according to the table above

5) It is your responsibility to state whether the selection is to ‘win’ or ‘each way’. It will be assumed that the selection is to ‘win’ if neither option is stated. It is also your responsibility to select on the correct course, i.e. jumps or flat meeting according to the season; meetings available for selection are displayed on the website each week but the ultimate responsibility is with the individual selecting

6) If your horse does not win or is not placed you lose 1 point on the NAP table, if your horse wins or is placed as you selected then you will gain points according to the SP odds for the selected race. For example a win selection for a horse that finishes 1st at the SP odds of 7/1 will gain 8 points on the table; 7 points for the win plus the original point. All SP odds are as per the Sporting Life website

7) It is your responsibility to inform us of your selection each Saturday either by text to 07921 158784 by email to admin@napmyhorse.co.uk or via the link on this website before the race starts. If no selection is made, or for example the horse selected is on the flat during the jump season, than this will result in a 1 point deduction

8) Any member of the admin team also participating in the NAP table must ensure that their selection is either sent by text to another NAP member or via this website before the race starts

9) If your selected horse is a non-runner then the selection will score zero points, however you have until the last race of the day to re-select a horse.Hoever, if your horse 'refuses' to race (REF/RR) under starters orders you will be minus 1 for the selction and won't be able to re-select.

10) Should the number of horses in a race reduce meaning no each way option is available then the selection automatically becomes a win selection

11) Dead-heat: If two selections dead-heat for any placing, half the stake is applied to the each selection at full Sporting Life odds and the other half of the stake is lost. If more than two dead-heat, the stake is proportionally reduced accordingly

  • For example, if you have a win selection at 10/1 and your horse dead-heats for the first place with another horse, then your stake is reduced to 0.5 points. You are returned 5.5 points (i.e. 5 points for the win at 10/1 = 5 + 0.5 stake returned = 5.5 points returns to you)

  • In a dead-heat scenario what does not happen is that the betting odds are halved. This is not the same thing as halving the stake and returns a different figure

12) During the winter we can expect some meetings will suffer from the weather and some meetings will be cancelled altogether. In this event you may reselect your horse on another jump meeting that is taking place the same day. Should all jump meetings be cancelled due to the weather conditions then we revert to any flat meetings on the same day for selections but for one week only. In the event that all the flat meetings are also cancelled then the week's selections are fully abandoned and we roll over to the following week at double the stakes

13) During the jump season/NH (National Hunt) racing includes all races under NH rules, i.e. even those over the flat

14) There are two prize pots per season, one for the jump season and one for the flat season, we anticipate around £520 per season

15) For both seasons the prize money will be distributed as follows:

Winner 70% of the total pot

Runner up 20% of the pot

Third place 10% of the pot

16) In the event of a draw the winner will be decided by the highest number of winning horses selected during the season in question (jumps or flat) if the standings are still equal then the highest number of 2nd placed horses will be the deciding factor, then 3rd placed horses

17) The Joker: everyone will get one ‘Joker’ selection per season and when played their winning points will be doubled, however should they lose when playing their ‘Joker’ they would be minus 2 that week and not minus 1, the ‘Joker’ can be played on either to win or each way selections.

Note, there will be no obligation to play your ’Joker’ over the course of the season and there will be a specific ‘Joker Window’ which will open after 4 weeks in, so week 5, and closes 4 weeks out, so week 22, you will be reminded as the window opens and closes.

There will be ‘no’ change to the £27 entry fee as a result of this new format.

18) To take part in the NAP table the cost per season per participant is £27 and can be made in person or by bank transfer to Mark Loly's account, please make contact for bank details, or by cheque posted to: Mark Loly, 1 London Mews, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 1GE. Payment prior to the start of each season would be appreciated

19) New members are welcome to join the table after the start of the season; upto and including week 2 they will start on zero points however week 3 onwards they will start on -3 points, week 4 -4 points and so on

20) Each way selections will be adjusted in those cases where each way selections no longer apply, and will subsequently become win only selections

21) Rule 4: Odds will be adjusted to reflect the application of a Rule 4 application

22) All decisions made by the Warwick NAP table admin team are final
